Premarin anyone?

I'm now 10 weeks PP and DH and I still haven't had sex. We've tried but I still feel too much discomfort internally. I called my OB about it and she called me in a prescription for Permarin. Which to my understanding is used to help with symptoms of vaginal dryness during menopause. My OB said that because I'm nursing that vaginal dryness is a common thing and this medication will help with the discomfort during sex. 

I swear I've been on more medications PP than I ever have my entire life. LAME!  

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Or had their doc prescribe this for medication?  If so, did it help?

    I am in the same boat as you but opted to pass on the premarin....

    Premarin (including Prempro, Premphase, Prempac, and Premelle) is a drug made up of conjugated estrogens obtained from the urine of pregnant mares.

    No Premarin here, but while BF DD1 I did use the Vagasil intimate moisturizer a few times.  I think it helped.  It lists BF as one of the causes of dryness on the package insert, I think because of the low estrogen.  Also, LOTS of lube is a must!!!

    My Mom and Mother in law took premarin for years and both ended up with lumps in their breast. My Mother in law's was actually cancerous and my Moms was not. My best friends Mom also too premarin for years and now has stage 2 breast cancer. once the lumps were discovered in all three of these ladies all three different doctors say premarin does lead to cancer and immediately took them off premarin. just an FYI but maybe it's not so bad to take for a few months????
