Being sick and BFing

This is kind of a silly question but I am a FTM so just remember that...

My precious little Ana was sick - her pedi said it was a little virus and it seems that now I have this little virus.

Any who I am wondering is it ok to still BF her. Will my milk get little A sick again? She seems mostly over the sickness other than still being congested but now I'm congested, sore throat, sneezing... I am just worried that she will get sick again bc of me.

Anyone know? Thanks.

Both my LC and pediatrician have said to continue bf-ing if I catches cold or virus.

One of the benefits of bf'ing is that your milk contains antibodies to illnesses you have or are exposed to. So it's important to keep bf'ing when you're sick. You'll pass on immunities to LO that will keep her healthy. Some precautions you can take though, are to wash your hands frequently and don't kiss her face or hands while you're sick.
