Pregnant after a Loss

~*~* SandyB *~*~

Are you "out" yet?  You're almost 1/2 there!

Re: ~*~* SandyB *~*~

  • I told most of the people at work yesterday!!  I also came out on fb.  No one suspected, and was shocked that I said I was due in June!  Someone had started a rumor that I was leaving in June because I was looking at the weekend schedule for the summer (they thought I would get a new job after getting the Masters), so they all thought when I told them I had news, that it was that I was leaving, instead of pregnant!

Can't believe we have come so far!  There are days when I still have a hard time believing it, bc I still haven't felt him move yet, so I almost feel like I'm lying when I tell people.

  • You must be hiding it really, really well!  (Me...one of our client couriers told me I was going to have a huge baby because I was so big at 15 weeks!  Ouch.)

Congrats on telling everybody!   Is your a/s soon?  I'm in shock at how fast the time seems to be going by.

  • I am definitely showing, or maybe just look like I have a gut,  but it's pretty easy to hide in scrubs and a lab coat, then I always put a coat on in the break-room because it's freezing in there. One of the ladies (who is on vacation) did tell my CW a couple weeks ago that my stomach was getting bigger and asked if I was pg...but she has asked a million times over the last year and is constantly on pg watch.

My anatomy scan is 2-14 when I will be 21 weeks, can't wait!!

  • Aw, what a sweet Valentines Day this year.  Do you have a feeling either way?

My body evidently outed me pretty early since I was running to the bathroom every 30 minutes and my chest kind of exploded.  :)  I had people (from other depts mind you) that flat out asked if I was pg...or if I was just getting fat.)

Are you delivering at the hospital?  At least if I go into labor at work I'll only have to take an elevator ride!  :)

  •  I can't believe ppl just flat out ask! That same lovely CW asked me at 5 weeks, and told me my hips were getting big, I told her to stop calling me fat and got really mad, and she has not asked since (although she still asks my good friend at work).

Well, we had the NT scan at 13 week 2 days, and the peri said it was definitely a boy, but looking at the picture, it is huge, and when I showed it to my OB she said that was big for 13 weeks, but she thought boy too.  I'm worried it might have been the cord, but I still think it's a boy.

I'm not delivering at the hospital, which is kind of silly, but we live about 35 mins from FW (no traffic) and 20 mins from Plano, so we are going to deliver there.  My DH also works in Plano, about 5 mins from the hospital, so he has been about to come to all the appts, where he would have had to take 1/2 day to come to the ones in FW, and bc I get in so early, it's not a problem for me to make 3 or 4 oclock appts.  I am worried about going into labor at work though, bc it's an hour from there to my hospital, but I guess in an emergency, I could always deliver in FW.

  • I didn't mind when my direct co-workers asked, because I am actually friends with them.  People I just see in passing in the hall should know better than to ask or rub my belly!  One gem said "well that's good at least, because otherwise..."  I admit, I did do some emotional/stress eating after our m/c so I HAD put on a little weight, but still.  Filter, people, filter!

My husband is sooo excited for a little boy he can play and watch sports with. I had a hunch from the beginning it was a little boy. I would love to have a little girl at some point, but I'm just thanking my lucky stars for this little boy since I'm on the elderly side of having a baby.  Stick out tongue

I think you'll like Plano, it's supposed to be a really great place for delivery. That's where we live, but my OB is at Dallas so that's where we'll be.  Your food (have no idea if you'll even be hungry) should be a step up from normal hospital food from what I hear.

  • I know, I gained weight after the m/c too, so I was really hurt when that lady called me fat at 5 weeks, when that obviously wasn't from the baby :/

We are really happy at the possibility of a boy too.  I would like a girl too some day, if possible, but we are really excited this ones probably a boy.

I've heard good things about Plano, and the "5-star food".  Hopefully, I'll feel up to eating it, if not my husband will enjoy!
