I had a big cyst on my right ovary (on CD5) back in November so we waited it out to see if it would go away on it's own. I was tracking my temp that month and it showed I did ovulate. We tried the month of December (no temping) but it was a bust. I used OPKs this month and our timing was great but on CD18 we did a quick u/s to see if the cyst was still there and the right one was gone but the left one now had a 4cm one. My question is do you think there is still a chance I ovulated and could have a shot this cycle? I'm starting to wonder if my ovulation is messed up and forming cysts instead of functioning like it should. I've had regular periods and my charting has shown ovulation is happening, I just wonder if this cyst stuff is messing things up. Thanks for any insight, just looking for any hope! ![]()
Re: Would there still be a chance?
I've had similar experiences - I've got PCOS and large cysts. I always thought I was ovulating because I'd eventually get AFs (veeerrrry irregular) but then I found out they were annovulatory cycles and I wasn't ovulating at all. For example, in December, I got a positive OPK while I had some large cysts and totally believed I had ovulated, but AF didn't come for more than three weeks after - so wasn't a real cycle.
Not sure if you have PCOS or not, but I just started taking Metformin and within the last three weeks, I have far less pain, cysts are going away, I ovulated, and it was at the correct time!! Might be something worth consulting with your doc about! Also, best way to know is BBT charting!! If you haven't started, I would do it! It's free and easy and super helpful!
