Question...

Hey ladies, I have a question. When I went for my check up Monday the DR. had to search for the baby for a minute bc she was looking higher than what I usually find the baby's HB w my doppler.  Finally she found LO's HB lower like above the hair line. Dr just acted like she was a little surprised that LO is still so low.  Are you all still finding your LO's HB low? Everyday when I try to find LO's HB I find it so I am not worried that baby is not ok, but should I be worried that LO is still so low?  I too haven't felt hardly any movement.. I feel what I think is flutters from time to time but then I don't know if it is gas or actual movement. You would think that I would know what to look for since this is #2! Thanks for any advice and opinions.

Re: Question...

  • My LO also sits very low still, but my MD wasn't concerned at all.  I think as our uterus' grow, the baby will move up.  The worst part is the baby's head sits on my bladder all day sometimes sending shooting pains down there...ouch!

  • My little peanut is all over the place!  Sometimes I find the baby really low and other times its high.  Last time it was so low the OB had a hard time finding the HB.  I wouldn't worry about it.  It's probably just comfy down there!  lol

Same here.  My kiddo spent all day Wednesday REALLY low and I was in pain all day.

Same here. Dr put the doppler near my belly button but didn't find the heartbeat until she put it real low like you mentioned. I wondered if that was odd as well.

  • Could be that at this point most babies are head up, so the dr checks up higher first?  But if baby happens to be head down, the hb would be lower.  I'm totally guessing, I have no idea.  I just remember that when I was pg with DD, my dr knew that she'd flipped head down because her hb was lower down than at previous appointments.
