Trouble TTC

Proper Clomid Monitoring Question & Chart Stalk

I have PCOS and have been on Metformin for almost a month. I am having my first real cycle with ovulation in about 14 months since going off the pill (According to BBT, checking CM, and OPK). I am currently 8DPO. I am shocked that the Metformin worked so quickly, although I won't know for sure until I get AF in another 8-10 days (or a BFP).

At my appointment when I was put on Metformin, my doctor had mentioned the possibility of Clomid in the future depending on how things go. I've seen a lot of people commenting on not being adequately monitored by the OBGYN, so I want to ask, what does being thoroughly monitored entail? I just want to be sure that IF we eventually get to that point, that we are doing it in the best way.

Here is my chart this month....any thoughts? It just seems to be high but going nowhere...not up, not down...just hanging out up there. Does this look possibly pregnant, ovulatory, or too soon to tell?

Re: Proper Clomid Monitoring Question & Chart Stalk

  • The proper monitoring can be found on the blog.  Sorry, not enough time to type it out.

I would honestly give your body a few more months before you jump to Clomid.  I think Metformin can regulate cycles and I believe it has for me as well.  After this round, I want to see if my body can O on it's own.

As for your chart.  It looks promising, as do 99% of charts at this point in your cycle.  It's too early to tell anything.  I do think you ovulated though and had great timing.  So, you will just have to wait it out.  Good luck.
