Recommend your pump!!

To give a little back story, I had every intention of exclusively breastfeeding LO. BUT after a horrible first night in the hospital (the nurses technique was to anger the baby then start jam her head into my breast) and many unsuccesssful attempts from there I started pumping and using bottles. Now after meeting with a Lactation consultant I find out I can only nurse on the left side and have to pump the right.

I currently use Tommee Tippee bottles and single electronic pump. Having some issues with the bottles but I think we can get past them seeing as LO is so young. BUT the pump I can not find replacement parts for and its a little compact unit not really meant for consistant use IMO.

What pump do you use if you use one? What pumps have you heard good things about? Do you get what you pay for when it comes to pumps? I plan to use some of my portion of our tax return to make this purchase so it will have to stay around prefereably under $300. But if I can go cheaper and get good quality I could like to.

medela pump in style is very popular and I love it. You can get it at Burlington baby depot for $220, or at Target or Babies R us for $280.

I have an Ameda Purely Yours and I love it!! it was just under $300 but worth it since I'm back to work and pumping a lot! It's a double electric but you can convert to single side pump as well. It came with tons of accessories and I have loved everything about it. I think you have to get it from a medical supply company, the company associated with the hospital I gave birth at carried them.

I use the Lansinoh double electric pump and really like it. It can be used as a single pump and that's how I use it since I can't seem to be coordinated enough to double pump at the same time. Its significantly cheaper than a Medela too. I think around $100-150

I love my PISA! I use it 5 days a week, 3 times a day and Aubrey is almost 12 months old. It's gotten lots of use but still works wonderfully.

I EP'd for 9 months using a Medela PISA and am using the same pump this time to build a frozen stash for when i return to work. It has never broken and the only parts I've replaced were due to normal wear and tear (ex. new membranes and tubes). Needless to say I am a fan of the pump and have gotten a TON of use out of it With pumps I do believe that you get what you pay for and the PISA has been well worth it IMO. We bought it at BRU 3 years ago and also bought the warranty plan issued by BRU but haven't had to use it.

Check with your insurance provider b/c I've heard of some people getting their insurance to help pay or fully pay for their pumps so that could help you cut down the cost. Good luck!

I have the Avent Double Electric and love it! It has been a great pump. It sells for around $200 at Walmart and Target.

I have the Lansinoh Affinity as well and love it. I ep and it's been great. It's been more efficient than the Medela Symphony I rented and the Pump in Style I borrowed from my sil.
