Nutramigen

Hey ladies...

Is anyone's LO on Enfamil Nutramigen.. If so, do u plan on keeping ur LO on Nutramigen until 12 months and then make the switch to whole milk OR do you plan to try a different formula before the switch to whole milk..??

Also, have you introduced your LO to yogurt?  If so, have they had any type of reaction i.e.; tummy ache, issues with the milk in the yogurt?

TIA

Re: Nutramigen

  • My daughter is on Nutramigen and is 10 months.  At 10 months, we introduced Enfamil GentlEase mixed in with her Nutramigen.  (1 part GentleEase to 2 parts Nutramigen).  We did that for a whole week...and then we started mixing 2 parts GentleEase to 1 part Nutramigen.  So far, so good!  We plan on eventually doing ALL GentleEase until she starts drinking whole milk at 12 months.

She has not had yogurt, but she can eat cheese without any problems, which I thought was weird, but she really enjoys it.

  • My little guy is on Nutramigen AA (prescription). He will stay on that until we try the milk switch (pedi is advising that between 12 and 15 months to slowly ween him on to milk). He has had yogurt and cheese and has done well - no reactions (knock on wood!). I'm hoping this is the beginning of the end with his allergies.
  • Nora was on Nutramigen, but we switched her to an organic lactose-free formula that worked better for her. We are keeping her on it until we transition to WCM. She's had yogurt and cheese without any problem.
