Update on house situation

So I posted a huge rant the other night about how this whole short sale situation has been going, or not going. It's just been one thing after another. So my realtor sent us pictures of the damage done by the kids who broke in to vandalize. Here they are:
These pictures were pretty much the final straw for DH and I. We have decided to completely back out. We would NOT feel safe living here. If these hoodlums were willing to break into a vacant house, who's to say they wouldn't break in once all our valuables get in there. Not to mention we could not even fathom subjecting our unborn child to such craziness. So we have firmly decided to back out of the contract and just find an apartment ASAP. The picture that freaks us out the most is the one where they wrote "My House" it just makes it sound so personal, just crazy.

Yea the gang signs in the 2nd one from the bottom would have been enough for me but coupled with everything else, I don't blame you a bit. I am sorry it didn't work out for you and I hope you find a good apartment soon!

It is based on the star of david sort of but it is actually a gang symbol. It's more about the 6 corners than anything (I used to deal with a ton of gang stuff at my old job)

I agree with you, the disrespect kids show these days is disgusting (and now I sound like my mom). Our library is being remodeled, so when you walk in there is basically a dry wall walkway to the elevator to go downstairs to where the finished part is - the part they're working on is blocked off. They must have left the doors unlocked or something because the last time DD and I went the whole walkway was filled with graffiti, nasty pictures, swear words, etc. DD said "mommy, who did this to the library? That's not nice!" and she gets upset about it everytime we go. OP, I totally agree with you, there's no way I'd move in there.
I think you made the right decision to back out. With all of the other setbacks, along with this and a whole new bunch of "unknowns", its a lot for two parents-to-be! I hope you are able to find something else without all of the issues!
