Does anyone give their babies vitamins, specifically vitamin D? I have the baby center app for my phone and was just reading today's entry and it said bf'd babies should get vitamin d. Wondering if I should bring it up to the pedi
My DD gets PolyViSol every other day. I give it to her in the bath because it makes a mess. Part of me thinks it's not necessary but DD1 needs iron so it wasn't a huge switch to get the iron in her because she was used to the other vits. And that made it worth it.

We were told in our birthing/parenting class that it was 100% recommended for EBF babes and combined BF/FF babes, the vitamin D that is. Because they don't get enough of it from us. Our Pedi and my LC and the nurses at the hospital all told us the same info. Unless LO is being fed more then 21ounces of formula a day, it is safe to assume they aren't getting enough Vitamin D. Easy fix, they sell DVi-Sol (spelling might be messed up) in the vitamin section at most all supercenters and drugstores. It's an Enfamil brand liquid vitamin that they get once a day... but you have to give them so much of it out of a dropper that I have to do it in little squirts otherwise DD spits it all out.
Proud babywearing, breastfeeding, vaccinating SAHM of 2U2!
Our pedi suggested we start her on a multivitamin at her 2 month appt. I tried it today and she spit it all out. Next time I am going to try a pacifier that dispenses medicine and see if that works better. . .
