It most definitely did for me. We used the preseed, but we never really found a happy medium. Too much was good for me but didn't do DH any favors and too little was good for DH but didn't do me any good. Now we've moved on to IUI so we won't have to worry about it.
I'd invest in the pre-seed though. It can't hurt.

TTC #1 March 2010 - Nov 2012
Me: 29, PCOS (anov), Hashimoto's Disease // DH: 30, normal SA
3 Clomid, 1 Clomid/Menopur, 1 Menopur w/ TI (CX 4x's due to cysts) - All BFN
1 Clomid/Menopur, 2 Menopur, 1 Follistim w/ IUI - All BFN
RPL & Karyotype testing normal
it can screw things up, in particular making what is there hostile. this is why i find it so odd people do not get IUI's when getting fertility treatments (barring financial limitations).
Thanks for the input, ladies! I am doing an IUI this cycle and I haven't noticed any dryness yet but I'm thinking about when we're outside the dr's office...
If you are doing an IUI then your CM doesn't matter as much since you are bypasing everything to get to your cervix. Plus your u/s will tell you when to do the IUI. It is always good to know what to expect, though, and i'm on the side of collecting as much data as possible when it comes to ttc'ing so i appreciate this question!
I'm a girl who always has a lot of CM and on Clomid i definitely saw a decrease. I still had creamy cm pre-FW and post-IUI but for the few days of EWCM it was a lot less and didn't last as long.
GL!
Me: 31yrs old. In same/sex relationship for 12years I'm carrying & we are using anonymous donor sperm In March 2012 diagnosed with Diminished Ovarian Reserve (AMH = O.67) & IVF recommended
FET (2 5dt embryos) on 11/5/12= BFP! Beta #1=58; Beta #2=98, Beta #3=373. First u/s on 11/28/12 = 1 sac with fetal pole & heartbeat! Next u/s = 12/12/12
TTC History IVF#1 (Antagonist Protocol) Sept 2012 = BFN
10R; 8F; 4 Day5 GradeA embryos. Put back 2, froze 2. 12 IUIs (in 9 cycles) since March 2011:
6 unmedicated/unmonitored = BFNs
3 with Clomid/Trigger/monitoring/progesterone = BFNs "The Spirit of God moves over the formless void, over the darkness and deep, over the surface of the waters. When there is nothing...God is still there."
My first two cycles it didn't and I'm still waiting to see about this cycle. I have abundant creamy CM but that's not much help when it comes to fertile! I would grab some preseed just in case!
My first cycle of clomid was fine, I had tons of CM. The 2nd cycle it dried me up & thinned my lining. I would keep the pre-seed on hand in case you need it.
6th cycle of meds/iui combos = BFP!! - EDD 1/21/13 Born via emergency c-section - 8lb, 19.75 in, 100% stubborn
BFP Chart 8 cycles of unmedicated trying = BFP!! - EDD 1/10/18 *Waiting for Baby Eags 2.0*;
