Anyone already dealing with high BP?

I'm notorious for getting high BP in the last 10 weeks of pregnancy. I expect it

But I was shocked to learn my BP is "consistently high" with this pregnancy, I've had 2 appts.  Last appt was 140-something (2 maybe?) over 89. This week it was 135 over 96.

My last OB never did anything to me for the high BP just said that I was very pregnant and we'd worry if I got sick. So I have no clue whats going to happen if this continues but for the meantime I'm doing a 24 hr urine + my 1hr sugar test already. Eff yeah!

Re: Anyone already dealing with high BP?

  • Wow.  Good luck with the 24 hour urine!!!  Hope things come back normal.  This is my biggest fear with this pregnancy... Having high BP this early.  Luckily it's been low so far.  I hope the doctor comes up with a solution for you.  I would ask about BP meds.  I was on them for quite a while last time.

Good Luck!!!  I'll be thinking about ya!

  • I was induced due to pre-e with DS at 38w0d and my BP starting creeping up there with DD as well.  I was induced with her at 39w. I hope that if my BP creeps up this time, it's at the end of my pregnancy again!

Like you, I also have to do the 1 hour glucose in the 1st tri, not due to BP,  but the fact that I make monster babies.  And that damn glucose test is a million times worse on top of 1st tri nausea, let me tell ya :(

I'm normally in the pre-hypertensive range without being pregnant (damn family history).  I am a little concerned that I'll run into issues with this.

  • I have very high blood pressure. Without blood pressure meds I use to run 180/160 :/  Still not sure what the plan will be because I still haven't seen a OB, just my RE. I also have very high sugars, so I'm kinda anxious to get to my OB to see what they want to do! But gotta wait to be released from my RE.

  • Yep but I had high bp before my pregnancy so we switched meds while I was in the "planning to TTC" phase so now I'm on something safe for the baby. However my doc did say he was going to send me to a high risk specialist to monitor me just in case which makes me a little more stressed but I guess the good thing is I get to see the baby more.
