Why am I feeling this? (Updated)

I keep getting this feeling like I'm having contractions.  I'm not pg, or at least I don't think I am.  I had my tubes tied after my c-section with Brady.  I haven't POAS, but I'm starting to consider it because it is really bothering me.  Brady just started STTN and so he is nursing more during the day to make up for what he use to drink at night, I guess.  Of course, I've considered he is just going through a growth spurt too, but he isn't eating as much real food.  Anyway, I've have this "feeling" for a while that I might be pg, but it is kind of hard to convince myself it's possible.  I *think* I've had to urinate more lately, had a few random bouts of nausea, not bad, but I've never been horrible with the other two.  I can't really think of much else other than that my stomach seems to have bit of a pouch too it.  Anyway, I'm starting to think of POAS in the morning and either way, I guess I will be calling my doctor to get this contraction feeling figured out.  Who knows, maybe I've just convinced myself that I'm pg and now I've convinced myself I'm having contractions!

ETA: I forgot to mention, I haven't had a period since having Brady, so I really don't have much to go on!

Update: BFN, I'll test again tomorrow if my period doesn't come first, either way I'll update again then.

  • I'd go POAS right now...if you've felt that way for awhile and haven't had a period for awhile, it can't hurt.

LOL!  If I had one around, I probably already would have!

  • I actually had a couple times where I experienced "phantom kicks."  It never felt like contractions, but felt exactly like a baby kicking and would go on for quite a while.  It was so weird and I thought I was going crazy.  The fact that it happened several times made it hard to tell myself I had just imagined it.  I never did find out what is was and I never turned out pregnant.  I've never had digestion issues and the episodes were never accompanied by constipation/diarrhea, so who knows.  Bodies are weird sometimes.

Go POAS for peace of mind and give us an update.  :)

Maybe you are finally going to get your period?  My first period after my c-section felt like labor...I was vomitting and had to leave work, it was awful.  Infact, the first 2 or 3 were like that (not to scare you).  I thought something was up so I scheduled an ultrasound and they found absolutly nothing...not even really any scar tissue.  No idea why it was that bad because I usually have a pretty bad-ass pain tolerance.  Not looking forward to that again.
Is your uterus suppose to be up by your ribcage area though? Because that is where I'm feeling these, they feel just like bh contractions.

This happened to me too. After POAS several times, I finally googled it and turns out it's pretty common. I can't say I wasn't freaking out though, or not partly disappointed.

  • And also - totally agree that you should go get a test asap to alleviate your concerns, but it could totally be AF. My first one after having DD was totally weird and I remember having different cramps then I remembered from the past.
