IVF Baseline

Hey ladies! So I went yesterday for my baseline and everything looked pretty good. The only concerning thing is I has a 12mm cyst on my right ovary which was a little big for what they would expect. They added some additional blood work to see if the cyst was going to cause a problem and luckily it looks like it is going to be ok and won't keep us from cycling. So I start stims on 1/29 of Gonal-F and Menopur. ER looks like it will be around 2/9 and we are pulling for a 5dt on Valentines Day. I picked up my loot of meds and feel like I could probably be a drug dealer if I wanted. We went to injection training also and the only thing that worries me is the trigger shot that I will have to do in my butt. That needle did not look fun

Also a quick question for those who have taken Menopur...I have to mix it and they said to start with 1cc of the sodium chloride and to up it if it burns, so what mixture of the sodium chloride have you found that doesn't make the shot burn? TIA ladies and I hope everyone is having a good day.

Hi -

I did the GonalF + Menopur combo for all 3 of my IVFs. The Menopur does burn but only for 10 seconds max, so I just held my breath and waited it out.

I am doing Endometrin so its a suppository so luckily I dont have to worry about the PIO I think I will deal with the messiness of the suppository instead just to avoid that needle.

I haven't started the Menopur yet but I am in nursing school. You want as little sodium chloride as you can tolerate. If the shot is bigger it can cause bruising and that hurts really bad. I would take the sting over a bigger shot anyday. Now, like I said it's easy for me to say because I haven't done it yet but that is what I've learned in school.

I mixed Bravelle and Menopur together and I kept the sodium choloride at 1cc. The burning wasn't to terribly bad. It only lasted for a few seconds. Good luck!

I mixed 1cc of saline with the Menopur and Gonal F. It burned a little but wasn't so bad. Good luck to you!!

I'm glad the cyst isn't going to affect anything. I had my SIL who is a nurse do the trigger shot for me. Hopefully you can find someone that will do it for you. Good luck!
