Give it to me straight... how awful is the staple removal? I had glue with DD1, and staples this time. I get them out and go home tomorrow, and I'm nervous!

I had my first c-section with DS and had staples. They were removed in 5 days (due to L&D issues) and the removal was not painful at all. It just felt like a little tug and that was it..
its not what you think! I'm a FTM and when I got mine removed it didn't hurt at all. I was terrified at first but ended up being no big deal. congrats and GL!
I had them with DD1 and it was no biggie! I had them removed just before discharge (48 hrs after delivery). A nurse removed them, in my room. Just some gentle tugging and then I got up and went home.

It felt like little tugs but tickled. I was giggling the whole time. My nurse could not get over how funny I thought It was.
I did feel a pinching sensation when mine were removed. However, I felt so much more comfortable when they were out! I had not realized until then how much of the pain I felt from my incision was from the staples tugging when I tried to move. Good luck and enjoy going home with your baby!
I had staples the first time around and will have them again this time. It didn't hurt when the nurse took them out. Only one on the end on my left side pinched just a bit but that was because that end of my scar sat down in a roll of extra skin and the skin stuck to the staple. No bleeding, no pulling; all in all - no big deal.
they took my staples out at the hospital (day 3) before we left to go home. it felt like a little prick...she told me it would feel like my eyebrows being plucked and i guess that was similar! and TRUST me i'm a wimp!!!
i think taking the tape off after they covered it hurt more!
