Tired=crying? Can someone help me out??

DD is 8. A completely normal, well rounded 8 year old. Lately when she's tired and getting into bed she'll start crying (not all the time) and doesn't know why. She was just crying and laughing at the same time because she had no idea why she started crying except for "maybe it's because I'm tired." She did just stay up an hour later then usual but I can't remember if the times she has cried are the nights she has stayed up late. The laughing and crying thing freaked me out and now I'm a little worried.

Does anybody have any insight?

  • welcome to puberty????

    Not sure.

My oldest is 7, and she is very emotional in general...just sensitive about everything....but if she's tired, the sensitivity turns into crying.

That is what I was thinking.  Sadly enough, even at 8 it could be a possibility.

  • Getting older and starting to experience different emotions.  Just keep the communication line open so if there is a problem she will come to you.
