Back when I bought my K'tan... 3 years ago the directions said you could do a back carry in it for an older child. I was never comfortable with that as it seemed to stretch too much. Now that I'm just about due, I'm refreshing myself on the K'tan carries and reading on here how you shouldn't do a back carry with a stretchy wrap. Does the K'tan qualify as a stretchy? I can't find any info on it, but I was just wondering.
Can y'all help me out, baby wearing gurus?
Re: Has this changed? Probably a stupid question.
Yuo, no back carries in a strechy and K'tan is a strechy!
The *only* exception I have ever heard is for the Gypsy Mama (now Wrapsody) Bali Baby Strech as it more a hybrid than a true strechy. That said, I really can't imagin why anyone would want to do back carries in a strechy when you can find so much more supportive fabrics, even without spending big $. (Like gauze wraps)
I did know this, but when I pulled out the K'tan to wash it and look over the carries, the instructions give directions for back carries.... Like I said, I bought it three years ago and I haven't used it since my DS was a wee infant. Funny how things change...lol
My mei-tai just came today, I'll probably wind up just using that =-)
