BCP while BFing?

I'd like to go on the pill as soon as humanly possible after I have this baby, but I also plan to EBF like I did with #1.

I didn't get on the pill while BF my first baby so this is new territory for me. We just did condoms and those turned out to not be reliable, so I need something hormonal, I'm afraid, but I'm clueless about what you can take while BFing that won't affect supply/baby, etc. Is there a BCP you can take (mini-pill?) IUDs scare me but I'm open to one if it's safe, recommended, reliable.

The mini-pill is safe. I've been on it since my 6 week appt.

An IUD is more reliable - I plan to get Mirena after my next baby.

This. I'm on the mini-pill. If you're good with remembering to take them they're reliable. If not you may want to consider an IUD.

Thanks ladies. I'm good at taking a daily pill. Are there any negative side effects of the mini-pill that you have heard of? I'm sure this varies by the person...

I think if you've been okay with BCP previously, you're very likely to be fine with the mini-pill. I've never really had any negative reactions to combo bcp, and the minipill has been fine for me.

Like anything hormonal, there are women out there that hate it.
