TTC After a Loss

OPK question

Background: I'm using the Wondfo OPK twice a day - FMP and when I get home from work around 5ish. I know I don't drink enough water, add that to working in a school and not always having time to go when I want to, I sometimes don't pee all day and wait til I get home.

What's going on: My FMP OPK has been faint. It's still early, but I know you all do the same thing and stare at that line determining the degree of faint. FMP is really really faint. Then when I get home from work, the OPK is still considered negative, but a noticeably darker faint line than FMP. The next FMP I'm anticipating at least the same level of darker faint.... but it goes back to the original really really faint. My temps are all still low, so I know I haven't O-ed and haven't gotten the good CM yet. This has happened 2 days in a row now.

Question: Has this ever happened to you? Any idea why the degree of darkness on my faint line might change?

I know some prefer the digitals so you don't have to read into how faint the line is, but I like watching it get darker as my surge approaches. TIA for your thoughts!

Re: OPK question

  • Not everyone has a fade in pattern. So the darkness of the line doesn't really matter. It's just a +OPK that means anything. Also, they usually say not to use FMU since LH picks up in your urine later on during the day.

Just keep on taking those OPK's! You'll get your positive soon enough.

Your FMU is light with the wondfo's because there isn't enough LH in your system yet for the cheapies to read. It takes LH a little while to build up in your system during your waking hours. I know your schedule makes it difficult, but it would be best to use the wondfo's in the early afternoon and early evening...say 2 pm and 8 pm ish. I buy digi's from amazon and like to use one with FMU and use wondfo's the rest of the day. I have noticed that I get the fade in/out with the digi's, which I also like to watch for. HTH!

Thanks MheMhe... I'll have to think about my schedule and see what I can do about PIAC in the afternoon.

I thought all digi's were smiley faces. How do you see a fade in/out with them?

  • I'd go to 3x a day. Maybe once with FMU and once when you get home and then before you go to sleep. I wouldn't stop doing it first thing in the morning in case you began to surge overnight and there's some carryover. For me, this cycle, I got an almost +OPK at 10:30pm, a true +OPK the next day with FMU and also that PM and then with FMU the day after that.

I like testing so pretty much any time in my fertile window when I'm at home I'll PIAC.

  • thanks ladies! I think I'll go with the three a day model. Since I won't be able to BD til I get home from work, I might as well wait to PIAC til then. So I'll just add a bedtime OPK to help catch my surge. Maybe bad timing of OPK was reflected in bad timing BD. We'll see how it goes!
