SOOOO nervous about becoming mom of 2u2

Hi!!  I'm joining this board early so I can get an idea of what to expect once my second one comes along.  DD will be 16 months by then and I am nowhere near getting her sleep trained (she's cosleeping at the moment... loooong story) or doing anything other 10 month olds seem to be doing at her age.  I know, I know, I am a SAHM and everyone tells me I'm just not doing things right... that I'm being lazy???  Well, they don't flat out SAY that but their looks tell me everything.  Anyway, the posts here are so informative and encouraging.  I can't wait to start posting about my own experiences!  =)

  • Congrats!  Don't be nervous.  You will do fine.  Don't worry about anything you did with #1, you had the luxury of doing whatever worked for the moment.  It would be good to try to work on a schedule (including sleep) while you are pg, so when the new baby arrives you can keep things as consistent and routine as possible, giving DD1 what she needs and doing things for #2 in between.
Fortunate to be a SAHM to my 3 musketeers (5/2006, 5/2010 & 12/2011). Soy & dairy free for the 3rd and final time. Lilypie Kids Birthday tickers Lilypie Second Birthday tickers Lilypie First Birthday tickers imageimage

  • DD1 was still sleeping in bed with me, when I got my BFP (my girls are 16.5 months apart).  I let her BF until she was a year, but started night weaning at 11.5 months.  She was STTN by 12.5 months.  I read the "No Cry Sleep Solution."  There was a bit of crying, when we stopped BF-ing, but I found other ways to soothe her.  Good luck!  You'll do great!

  • Congratulations!  Don't be nervous...take it one day at a time.  Both DH and I felt like we were in 'survival mode' for a while.  There's definitely an adjustment period.  Once you find your grove you'll be fine :)  DS slept in our bed up until a few weeks before DD was born.  Cherish the time you spend with LO now before #2 comes along!
