Hows the volume control?

I think my husband likes it more than my daughter does, he got addicted to it when I went into labour and we laid on the bed that whole day listening to it.
We have one, but I don't think it's the magical, all-powerful thing a lot of people say it is. Occasionally it will help put her to sleep, but she likes just looking at it more than anything.
The volume control is good and it goes for a decent amount of time. The only problem is, as a PP pointed out, that if she does fall asleep to it, she will more often than not wake up once it goes off.
We got ours as a gift, so I guess my overall feeling is that it's nice, but I don't know if I would spend my own money on it.

Ditto on the Giraffe.
One of us will rock DS to sleep, shushing in his ear. We shush at him until he's in the crib, and then switch the Giraffe on.
We only use the white noise too. I do sometimes turn on the jungle beats one and dance around the room though

This. I have it hooked to LO's crib and when we nap or sleep in there (I have a recliner in there for rough nights!) it works wonderfully!
