Im new here. Headed to my last appt

earlier this week I went to my first US at a new doctor, There was no heartbeat. I went to the hospital for a second US and it was determined the sack stopped growing at 7 wks, and I was 10w3d. My face just hurts everytime I move because of the crying i guess. Today I am going to the hospital to "purge, I am told I will have 3 options. Natural, Prescription or D&C. I can't imagine waiting for it to pass through my body, that would be torture, does anyone have advice? If you care to share.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember you from 1st tri and I'm sorry you have to be here. My story is a lot like yours. The Dr. Found no HB and my DH and I were (and still am) devastated.

The decision is really up to you. I went with the D&C because I just couldn't wait it out. It was too hard "feeling" pregnant and my baby was really gone. The D&C was quick and painless for the most part (just a lot of cramping afterward).

Anyway, do what you feel is best and know that you are supported either way.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just wanted to let you know that I would be thinking about you today. I know how hard it is to know that your baby is gone, and to have to make a decision on how to proceed. Everyone is different, and your gut will tell you which option is right for you. Just don't be afraid ... You will be able to make it through this just fine.

I understand your face hurting from crying, it will for a while. But, like everything else, that will ease with time. All my best to you.

Hi there. I'm so sorry for your loss.No one should have to go through this.

I tried 2 of the 3 options, so I'd be happy to answer any questions you have on those.

I had an incomplete miscarriage in December. I tried to wait it out/go the natural route, but when I had a follow up ultrasound nearly a month later (Jan 16), nothing had changed much, so my doctor scheduled a d&c for last Thursday (Jan 19). Medication wasn't an option for me, because I have large fibroids (my uterus is the size of a 20 week pregnancy) and the way the meds work is that your uterus has to contract to expel everything, so in my case there was a chance I could keep bleeding and end up needing a transfusion because my uterus is not going to contract all the way.

Everyone's different but my doctor made it seem like I could go back to work the following day and be fine, so I just wanted to let you know my recovery went something like this:

day of surgery: feeling great (was on percocet)
day 2: super crampy (nothing helped), tired, constipated
day 3: still crampy
day 4: felt ok in the morning, then awful at night
day 5: felt ok in the morning, but had 2 hours of excruciating cramps that stopped only after i passed a huge blood clot
day 6 & 7: back at work, not terrible - taking less ibuprofren, but still have less energy than i normally do
