So apparently I failed my 1-hour glucose test and I'm slightly anemic. I was told to take an iron supplement and I go in tomorrow for the 3-hour glucose test.
I kind of want to prepare myself for the "worst" so if I happen to fail the 3-hour test, can anyone tell me what's next? I believe I will have to change my diet. Does anyone have a good website that shows what needs to change and what foods are good to eat etc etc? Is there extra monitoring done?
What about if you were anemic, did the iron supplements help? What did you do for the constipation? Did you also have to go back periodically for bloodwork to check to see if you were improving?
Thanks!!
Jessica
Re: GD? Anemia?
I can't help you with the GD but I have low iron too. When my dr first told me, its was 10.4 so she had me start 1 iron pill daily. I was retested a month later and was up to 10.8. But she said its very hard to get it back up to normal during pregnancy and that she was happy with it not dropping more. I'm now on 2 iron pills a day. I haven't had a problem with the constipation.
