Does anyone have any fun suggestions for things to do as a family (me, DH and DD) in February, keeping in mind that we can't go out to very many places due to RSV lockdown? DH just found out that he has 2 weeks of time off he needs to use in the next two months or he loses it and we would love to do some sort of vacation as a family, but with DD being on lockdown until April, I'm at a loss for some fun family things we could do to 'get away'. We live in the midwest so it is snowy and cold here (though not nearly as cold and snowy as it usually is

). Normally we would fly to Arizona for a long weekend or go up north and go to a cabin to go cross country skiing, but those options are out this year. Any thoughts?
Re: Fun Family Ideas During RSV Season with Preemie?
You could always just vacation somewhere a little closer that's warmer maybe. I'm not sure what's close to you or anything but you could always rent a cabin or a beach house or something. As long as a lot of people aren't around, you can take LO out. Try going somewhere that is less populated maybe because it's not their normal tourist season or something. I'm not sure how old your LO is but I know mine would be pretty interested in an aquarium maybe. You could always go to one of those on a day where there's hardly anyone there (call ahead and make sure there are no school groups, etc coming in) You could check with your pedi and see what they suggest.
I'm sorry I'm not more help. We still take DD out sometimes, so we're not completely strict with the quarantine. 90% of the time though, she's at home. We aren't planning on taking any vacations til the Summer.
Maybe someone else has better suggestions! Sorry. Good luck! & Have fun on your vacation!
Over the Christmas holidays we did a "stay-vacation." We just enjoyed relaxing and having DH at home without papers to mark or classes to prepare for.
We bought food that we normally wouldn't have and ordered in a few times. DH got in some good quality time with DS during the day, which allowed me to get out a bit. We played as a family a lot, and went for walks and picked Starbucks up on the way home. At time when DS was in bed we caught up on netflicks, played with our Christmas presents, and just hung out.
We're not playing any vacations any time soon. We're going to my parents for easter (they live 2 hours away), and then the cottage in May once its opened.
Have fun!

Do you have a carrier for LO? If you can put LO in a carrier like an Ergo walks could be a more feasible option. There really isn't any connection between the cold and colds (viruses) so as long as LO is bundled well (being snuggled up against you is best) getting outside would be a good option. Also is there someplace cool you could drive to when the roads aren't bad. We've liked scenic drives in the evenings together.
We also try to do fun things at home. One time DH went to Trader Joes and got a collection of around "around the world" apps then we watched netflix. We've also put on rap music from when we were in college and dating and had a dance party while one of us was wearing LO. Getting out is easier for us in California, but we stay in a lot too. Good luck... totally understand the stir-crazy feeling! You can also have DH watch LO and get out alone for a trip to the mall or a pedicure- that always helps too!
