My doc said nothing with salicylic acid. I feel your pain, mine is awful too. I started using Burt's Bees that has willow bark extract (supposed to be similar to salicylic acid) but I haven't seen much improvement.

Regular Proactiv DOES NOT have salicylic Acid it has benzoyl peroxide. I used it my entire first pregnancy. The only item in the 3 step cleansing that may have SA is in the Extra strength version and it's the toner. I use the extra strength but only the wash. My OB last time said it was fine. I've been using Proactiv for about 10 years.
Yep, the regular strength version does not have salylic acid in it. My OB said regular version was ok -- i used during my entire first pregnancy & this pregnancy. I did stop the salylic acid back wash taht worked wonders for me so my back is a nightmere.

If your doc says that benzoyl peroxide is ok, then you may want to ask about using panoxyl soap or wash on your back. It has benzoyl peroxide in it and it pretty good at keeping the back clear. You can find it in the usual drug stores. I haven't had my first appt with the dr yet, so I haven't been using it, but will resume if she says I can.

Thnks for the info. My back always breaks out but during pregnancy it gets SO disgusting. And now that I'll be preg in the summer, I could really use something. I'll ask about this. I also heard doing a sea salt scrub might help. I haven't tried yet though.
