Thursday Exercise Checkin

The board is slow today!  Hopefully that is becuase everyone is getting healthy Stick out tongue  I am going to do some strength training today.  I really don't like what my arms are looking like and I can really tell my core is not very strong either.  DH and I are going to visit family in April in FL, so I need to get my bikini body ready  (that's quite a joke...I am pretty sure it is one pieces and tankinis for me forever, LO left some pretty awesome stretch marks all over my tummy)

  • I'm jealous you have somewhere nice to go in April!  I'm ready for a vacation to someplace warm, but I'm dreading wearing shorts/tanks/bathing suits. 

    I tried to do a Jillian Michaels' workout video yesterday, but I only get through the first circuit and I felt like I was going to die.  I then tried my elliptical and was successful for about 10 minutes before the same feeling came over me.  I am really really really hoping to work up my stamina because 10 minutes will certainly not be enough to make a difference.  I'm going to try my elliptical again today.

  • I came back to work last week and was really nervous about being able to still get some sort of a run in daily.  I did really well the 5 weeks prior getting out and running with LO since it has been such nice weather.  I knew I wouldn't be able to work out at home so I have been bringing my running clothes to work and eating lunch at my desk so that I could snag some time later in the day to run.  So far so good! I have run every day except last Friday.  We have a trail through the woods and in addition to that one lap around our building is .75 miles so i do the trail which is just over 2 miles and then 2 or 3 laps around the building giving me between 3.5 and 4.25 miles each day.  My time is increasing daily so I am really happy!  I have been able to get in longer runs on the weekend which has been nice too.  I am not looking forward to the cold weather actually hitting us.  Not sure if I want to be out running every day when it is 20 or 30 degrees.

    I feel the same way! My stomach looks like a bowl of spaghetti jello and the cherry on top is my totally deformed belly button.  It is SO sad to think about never wearing a bikini again.  How do celebrities do it!? Oh wait, personal trainers, chefs, nannies and probably some good doctors as well...."sigh*

    Engle, thanks for posting these checkins...I read them every day and wish I could post but saldy the only exercise I've done lately is walking the dog and the baby every day.  I've only made it the gym twice since LO was born....I am in dire need of a core workout....
