Does anyone know when you fly with a stroller, do they put the stroller w/ other baggage? I've always seens strollers parked by the door to the plane but dont know what they do with them in flight. I'm wondering if my stroller is going to get "beat up" in travel like luggage does sometimes.
Thanks!
Also, I know usually its free to check a stroller, but anyone know about a pack n play?
Re: traveling w/ stroller
Check with the airline regarding the pack n play. They usually permit the baby to travel with 2 checked items. So I share a suitcase with the baby and then check the pnp and the car seat.
I've never had a stroller damaged but be sure to remove any removable attachments and fold the stroller up for the attendants so they don't abuse it trying to get it to collapse. Also, you have to get a stroller tag at the gate when you arrive.
Stroller - depends on what you prefer. The first time we flew, we checked it and the car seat at the counter with our regular bags (they can't charge you for these two items). Then we used a carrier to change gates because our layovers were short and we didn't want to have to wait at the gate for the stroller to come back up. Tomorrow, I'm flying with LO by myself, so I'm bringing the stroller past security and checking it plane-side. I need somewhere to put him since I'm by myself.
I'm sure the stroller will get beat up, so we're bringing our less expensive one (not the BOB). If you check it at the counter, buy a bag for the stroller. We did this with the BOB and it made it without issue and we were able to put other things in the bag as well.
