Waterproof mattress pad

Wondering if anyone has suggestions on a waterproof matress pad for DS's bed (he is in a full size bed.)  I am pretty picky about keeping his sheets natural, but he has peed through his diaper and sheets a few times, so I need to get something to protect the mattress.

Does anyone know how much of a concern off-gassing is from polyester and vinyl?  These seem to be the two choices when it comes to waterproof pads.

TIA!

Re: Waterproof mattress pad

  • Hunt around for "GREENGUARD Certified" covers? I know Naturepedic makes one for full (around $100). Those are certified to be non-toxic and not off-gass, while still being waterproof.
    - NO Vinyl / PVC
    - NO Phthalates
    - NO Latex (for allergy concerns)

  • I just purchased this (they have it in different sizes) and it had good reviews. Haven't received it yet but I'm hopeful it works well and I liked that there are no phthalates, vinyl, or PVC's but I want to look at the package before we actually use it...Sounded good though and was reasonably priced.
