Hi ladies! Hope everyone is well!
QOTW- just to recap, what are each of you doing to ensure your timing is ideal? Charting, temping, OPKs, Fertility Monitor, U/S and/or bloodwork, nothing at all, etc.
Any and all updates are welcome!
Re: *~*TTC Check In!*~*
Update: I finally caved and called in my provera prescription. I'll start it tonight so I can have a period. In other news, we filed our taxes today and got a good refund. That combined with me being hired on permanently at BV (yay!) has just about convinced DH that we *might* be able to afford treatments in the future. In his mind tax return + a small inheritance I just got will pay for Kate's preschool for the year. We should then be able to do a round of treatments every 2 or 3 months with the BV money. This is a huge step for him and I'm beyond thrilled! I have my annual at the end of February and I'm hoping to convince DH to come with me. I'm sure Seeker can convince him to start treatments.
QOTW: There's nothing to track since I don't ovulate.
QOTW- I'm charting CM, using the CBEFM, also using OPKs (just to be doubly sure). I don't think we've ever missed my window completely, but a few months ago we came close, so that's what I added the OPKs to the mix. If I can remember to temp, I will.
UPDATE- PEAK on fertility monitor this morning, and I just got a + OPK. Looks like my CF is rockin this month. So....
Woo Hoo! Good luck!
YAY!!!! Awesome news!!
That's exciting news for both of y'all!!
Kiarox-what treatment did y'all do that was successful in getting you pg with Kate?
We did injectable meds plus IUI. It ends up costing about 1K per month which is why we haven't tried again yet. Plus, the shots make me crazy.
Update-- Waiting on AF/Feb for my 2 of 2 TTA cycles. Feeling a bit nervous about actually *trying* to conceive in March. It sounds so close and so far simultaneously!
Hi! Please add me to the list. We are part of the "AMA" group so have to start on #2 sooner rather then later. We got the all clear from the Dr to start trying again in March, or after this cycle.
We do temping to fertility friend, OPK's and acupuncture for good measure. If we don't have success after April / May we will go back to the dr and visit about med's and bloodwork.
I'm an old mom too, I'm 39. I had to push my husband a little on the timeline for getting pregnant again but he's on board now. Last time, my periods were pretty regular so I knew exactly when I ovulated and it only took 5 months of trying thankfully. But this time my periods are all over the place (maybe b/c I'm still breastfeeding? I'm not sure) so I'm using the CBE OPK. I got a smiley face last week but we didn't do it for almost 48hrs after that so who knows. I'm going to wait another week or so to see if my period comes and then I'll start testing.
QOTW: I never have much luck with the OPKs, so I go more with a cycle day # approach. I keep up with the OPK just in case it decides to work, usually.
Update: we're giving it 2 more months, then we're done (I think). We're not getting any younger, and we've realized that we'd love another one, but we're not an incomplete family by any means with just the three of us. Since we're not into meds and treatments (I did Clomid, and hated it), I'm going to give acupuncture a couple of more months to get things moving. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.
Good luck to everyone trying!
GL to everyone!
QOTW:
- Charting (BBT, CM, CP, symptoms, etc)
- OPKs
- Acupuncture/herbs
- vitamins/supplements (increased folic acid, baby asprin)
- mucinex during fertile window
- prometrium during LP
Update:
I think that this cycle is the one. I really do. I ovulated on cd16 and our timing was surprisingly good. My chart is looking quite lovely already with a great spike. I'm going to start testing on Feb 1, which is probably a tad early but since I'm out of town the next week with work travel I want to know. If I don't have a BFP by that Friday I'll probably get a blood test that Friday or the following Monday before I leave for NY.
BFP 12.20.2010 :: missed m/c 1/2011 around 8 weeks
BFP @ 9dpo 5.24.2011 :: missed m/c 6/2011 around 7 weeks
positive for ANAs (1:40) with a speckled pattern
MTHFR c677t mutation (heterozygous)
*folic acid, baby asprin, Prometrium, acupuncture, Lovenox*
BFP @ 9dpo 2.1.2012 || HCG = 8 : Progesterone = 19.2
2nd HCG @ 11dpo = 40 || 3rd HCG @ 21dpo = over 5000!
Stick, little one, stick! EDD October 15, 2012
Good luck!!!
Whoa. That is a great spike! GL!!
Lots of exciting news in this thread - Good luck to everyone!
QOTW: We haven't done anything to time intercourse, but I think I am going to start temping and using OPKs once we get the okay to start TTC.
Update: I got the results of my blood work, and my prolactin is good (which means I don't have to wean to TTC - yay!), but my TSH was still a bit high. The nurse called it "borderline" and my RE put me on 50 mcg of Synthroid. Now I have to wait three weeks and go back for another blood draw so he can re-check my TSH and make sure the Syntroid is working. I am hoping we will be back on the TTC train in March!
Such great news on the check in this week! Good luck everyone-- Kiarox so exciting you've found the cash I know that always makes me elated. Get busy Bride! I'm feeling good for you.
QOTW: We use OPKs but we're also so closely monitored by the RE it doesn't really matter.
Updates: Started estrogen for my frozen embryo transfer Saturday. I had a lining check yesterday and so far so good-- got my calendar and signed the consents to thaw out a baby. I had a mini-panic attack in the office I just can't believe we're having to do this all again. But it looks like I will be transferring the 8th or 9th with a pg test on the 18th. I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed right now and as soon as they put the baby in there I'll cross my legs too.
And I've said this before but will say it again we need a happy hour... I'd love to meet some of ya'll face to face.
Married October 28, 2006, TTC since March 2009 IUI #1-8 w/ clomid = BFN
IVF # 1 May, 2011 = BFP!!! Stillbirth at 26 weeks (placental failure/severe IUGR)
FET #1 February, 2012-- BFP! Beta #1=84 Beta #2= 207 Beta #3= 3,526
Our Rainbow Baby is on the Way!
QOTW: We use OPKs and I sort of chart other symptoms. I use to temp, but it didn't seem to give me much more information, so I nixed it. I may look into a fertility monitor if things don't happen soon, though.
No real updates here. Last cycle was really short, which is super odd. I'm on day 11 now, so we'll see what happens.
Good luck to everyone, looks like we may have some good news from a few people soon!
QOTW- just to recap, what are each of you doing to ensure your timing is ideal? Charting, temping, OPKs, Fertility Monitor, U/S and/or bloodwork, nothing at all, etc.
I'm using FF app and another similar app, and charting obvious signs. If this current cycle doesn't work out, then I may consider temping.
I think Im 4dpo, and feel like out timing was pretty good this time. Helps when your not at your in-laws or family during the fertile window
QOTW: I am using OPKs (first time doing so)
I really, really want to test, but I think it's too early. Trying to hold out until the weekend.
GL to everybody!
