Lillian Emma is here!!!

Hi - her complete birth story will follow later, but wanted to share that Lillian Emma was born Saturday night, 1/21/12 at 9:19. She weighted 7lb, 1 oz and was 21 inches. We ended up having an expected c-section and then she had some initial respiratory distress which meant a few hours in the NICU, but we are all home now more grateful than ever.  

Our biggest challenge at this point is getting Lillian to gain weight (or even stop losing it). Her weight today was 6 lb, 3 oz and we had to begin supplementing feedings today. My milk seems to be coming in, just not enough.

I'm sure I won't be on the board with the same frequency for a while, but I just can't say enough how much I've appreciated this board. I tend to be very sensitive, and this was the only board where everyone seemed to actually care.  You were so unbelievably helpful during such an exciting and scary time in my life. Thank you all so much!!!

    Congratulations momma! I'm glad Lillian is doing well. If you plan to BF/pump, you'll probably find that your supply will increase the more you do either one. Give it some time - when I started pumping, I barely got anything. Now I'm doing much better with it. Most women will produce exactly the right amount for their babies. If after awhile you still have a low supply, there are some things you can do to increase it. I wouldn't worry too much at this point though since she is only a few days old. Smile
