TTC after 35

TTC at 43???

Hello...I'm new to the site and would like to discuss getting pregnant after 40.  I'm 43 and have had two miscarriages...the second ended after carrying my son for 5 mths :(....I'm not going to give up and want to try using my eggs.  I'm currently receiving treatment at RCRM.  I had my first IUI 12/24 with no success.  I am about to start my second round of treatment.  I would like to hear from anyone who has had success at my age...thanks a bunch.

Re: TTC at 43???

  • I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriages.  If you are looking for success stories you should also post this question on the Pregnant after 35 board.  I am sure you will get some positive stories from them.  Most on this board are still hoping for a success story.  Good luck to you!

  • I had my son at 40 and my daughter at 43.  I used my own eggs.  We did IVF because my dh had MFI and my age- I was a poor responder to the meds too.  My two best friends werre 42 (no medical help) and 41 (no help) when they had their kids.  It's not impossible - there are some of us out there!

I'm sorry about your miscarriages and I wish you good luck in your TTC journey!

  • Hi and welcome to the board.  I am very sorry for your losses.  It is definitely possible to conceive at 43, but I wouldn't say for most people that it comes easily.  I am 42, will be 43 in April.  We have just completed our last cycle of IVF and trying to figure out what our next steps, if any, to take from here.  There are several ladies on PG after 35 that got pregnant after 40 with their OE.  Good luck on your TTC journey, I have found that to be on this journey at all takes perseverence, a good RE (maybe), and a whole lot of luck.

  • I will be 43 in April and just finished my 5th IVF.. I will get my Beta today.  With IVF #4 we had a chemical.  I'm not giving up hope getting pregnant using OE.  Hopefully this one is it for us.  This board has helped me get through the negatives.  There are a lot of woman who conceive with their OE in their 40's.  Don't lose hope just yet.
  • I had my DD when I was 41 and TTC now at 42.  I had a M/C in Oct.  I wish you success very soon.
