Sorry I couldn't get my computer to do this in a PM...are you a LC?
I am considering a career change and I would like some info on becoming an LC. I've tried googling, but I don't get very reliable information. Do you have any info on how to become a LC?
I originally thought you had to be a nurse but I *think* I've seen that you don't have to be one...is that true?
Re: Question for **AmyG**
I've looked at it a little - you don't have to be a nurse, but to be IBCLC has a bunch of univeristy/college level requirements unless you already completed them (like, by being a nurse, dietician, pharmacist, etc).
The info is all here:

AmyG is just a passionate peer educator, I believe. I'm looking into LLL leadership as a hobby, as I don't have most of the university requirements and I can't go back to school right now. I also know that job opportunities in my city would be really limited as a non-nurse LC.

Thanks! I would love to get more involved with LLL, but I don't know if I can be a "leader" since I'm not actually BFing.
You know that whole "do what you love and it won't be a job" spiel every time you were in a career development class in high school? Yeah that's kinda what got me thinking. I spend more time thinking about BFing and how to help people than actually working lol. So maaaaayyyyyyybee I should look into doing it for a career.
That's what got me thinking - after EP'ing for 10 months, I finally realize the problems that prevending me from actually nursing! So now DD and I are going to be working on nursing "from the tap" so to speak.
There's a lot of bad advice out there and I would love to make sure that any advice I give is not only correct, but helpful in the long term. I would love to help out more in my local area because the BFing rates are so low, but there's so much bad information. Its a vicious cycle.
