I had my 1hr glucose test this a.m. Per my doctor's instructions, I didn't eat breakfast before going in. I ate a protein/breakfast bar in the car right after I had my blood drawn and left the place, then I had some toast and a glass of juice when I got home. I'm still feeling a little "off" almost two hours later -- like light-headed, but not quite dizzy. Anyone else have this happen after the glucose test??
Re: Light-headed after glucose test?
Yeah... I didn't think the drink was a big deal, but I did feel a little lightheaded afterwards. I also didn't eat beforehand and packed myself some snacks with protein and fat to eat immediately after I left. I felt better in a couple hours. I think the combo of empty stomach + big dose of sugar water is enough to throw anyone off, even if you don't end up with GD.
Of course, then I consumed half a box of the girl scout cookies left in the break room and felt sluggish the rest of the day. LOL. I'd recommend against doing that.
With my glucose test (when pregnant with DS) I felt light headed and nauseous during the hour wait and a couple hours afterwards. I almost passed out when she was drawing my blood. It wasn't fun.
Hope this time doesn't go like that.
