I have had a droid for awhile (almost 2 yrs) and had no problems with it. I got the iphone4s to try out (long story) and have to choose whether I like it or not by the end of the week (or it will be returned)
I am so torn.
There are things I like better about the droid and things I like better about the iphone. If I return the iphone I won't be due for an "upgrade" for another year.
If you've had both (or either one), please share your pros and cons.
Re: cell phone help: droid vs. iphone
I'm the same as you. I had a droid for several years and just switched to the iPhone and honestly feel pretty 'meh' about it. I think I'm just not the type to get excited over my cell phone.
I like that the picture quality is better. And I like Facetime for DH and DD.
I miss not having the google maps navigation. If there were an app for it on iPhone, I would pay a premium w/o hesitation. I get nervous w/ the more fragile screen.
I guess those are my top thoughts.
We started with an iphone and switched to the android, and I think we like the iphone better just because it's what we started out with.
I don't know why I like it more... I just do.
Have you had a Droid? Anything in particular you prefer?
I've had a blackberry (for work) and a few other phones, too and hated them all. The iphone and droid are neck and neck for me.
see, that's what i'm thinking. I'm leaning towards the droid but I think it's only because i'm used to it. And the navigation is wayyyy better than anything on the iphone.
I have a Droid and it's my first smartphone...I got it last June when my phone kicked the bucket. I like it but....
It's the Droid X and it's laden with issues that I wish I had known about (won't stay off, freezes, lags, etc.). The current operating system (Gingerbread) is full of bugs and from my understanding they are not going to offer "X" users the new OS (Ice Cream Sandwich) because they don't want to put users through more hassle. They want to focus on new models. So...they're going to leave me with a glitchy phone and a messed up OS? Wth?
Glitches aside, it does the job for me. I can find the apps I want/like. Calls are nice and clear. It's kind of big but I like that for viewing stuff.

I recently went from a BlackBerry Storm to a Droid Incredible 2 and I love my Droid. I never realized how limited the BlackBerry was until I upgraded. I love how fast it is, the camera, and the variety of apps. I've also been told by a friend who sells phones that the Droids are more durable than the iPhone. However, I've never personally owned an iPhone so I can't really compare the two.
All I can say is the Droid is great IMO and we'll probably be sticking with it for a long time.
I loved my droid for about 3 weeks... I wanted an iPhone but I didn't want to leave Verizon and of course the iPhone came out the next month... I hated my droid... All 3 of them!!! I had sooooo many issues with them and Verizon kept exchanging them out. I ordered my iPhone as soon as my annual renewal was available!
I LOVE my iPhone.... Yes, there is a learning curve.. But overall I love it.
