You should try adjusting the sensitivity on the back of it. Ours hasn't given us a false alarm in the whole three months we've been using it. Has it done that before last night?

I don't take one single minute for granted.
No not really, it has gone off once here and there but not like last night...I will try adjusting it but I don't want it to not catch if there is something really wrong!

If it hasn't been doing it that much before, I would check with the pediatrician. Not trying to scare you but I don't know if babies can have sleep apnea (where you stop breathing during your sleep), or maybe she is taking longer between breaths and the alarm promts her to breathe? Like I said, not trying to scare you but these are the things I would have been thinking about if the alarm was going off all of a sudden.

Also, you could try adjusting the sensitivity and then take LO out of the crib without turning it off to make sure the alarm still goes off after 20 seconds.

Ours has not gone off randomly, but if DD moves away from the center of the crib it goes off. During the night she scoots up towards the top left of the crib (usually hitting her head) and it goes off. Its starting to drive me crazy! I go in, reposition her in the center of the crib, and an hour later she's moved again. I couldn't sleep without it though.
I would check the placement of the sensor mat and if it does it again I would definitely call your pediatrician like pp because of sleep apnea.
I LOVE the Angelcare! It did go off one night a couple of times, but we figured out DD was kicking her legs in the air and must have gone out of the sensor's range...we used to have it to the right side of the crib because she was so tiny, but now we moved it to the middle and always put her down in the middle of the crib and have not had any false alarms since then.
We LOVE our Angelcare monitor. We have never had a false alarm. I know DH had to put a piece of wood underneath the monitor pad. If you have been using it without any issues or false alarms and are suddenly having them then I second what PP said and check with the pedi. You may also try calling customer service if you know your LO was breathing and it gave a lot of false alarms in one night. Another option is checking the sensitivity, did it get bumped on accident?
Lots of false alarms here. I changed the board under it to be the exact size recommended and it helped. It still goes off often because dd rolls to the far side of her crib. Never noticed an actual problem when it's gone off.
