I'm starting to notice a trend from other ASD parents I'm meeting.
What is/was your job, your college major, subjects that interest you?

I'm an attorney, American Studies/Legal Studies Major. Interested in pop culture and American History. Good at math, but not really interested in it.
My husband is a computer help desk person. He was a pschology major in college. He likes all things on Fox News, and military history.
I did Technology Education, then went on to get my Masters of Education. Right now I work as a photographer and I'm currently going to school to be an SLP
DH does aviation/transportation management but always was very interested in mechanical design/drafting and took a lot of those courses when he was working on his degree.
I'm a Business Relationship Manager for a background screening company, but I went to school for Accounting and Taxation. I'm into cooking and travelling (though not so much since DS entered our lives).
DH studied Theater Tech in college but unfortunately didn't finish. He's currently working as a Project Manager and working towards his PMP Certification. He's a huge gamer both video games and RPG (yes he's a D&D'er).
You know me but I'll bite anyway
I have degrees in special education and reading/literacy. Right now I'm volunteering with 16p things and working on becoming a professional special education advocate.
My husband is a manufacturing engineer with a BA and MA in the same.
I'm a RN, but currently staying home with my kiddos. I just started a Master's Certificate program in ABA and am planning to go back to be a SLP once the kids are in school. I love photography, building furniture, shopping, and hanging out with friends. I am not comfortable in new social situations with people I don't know. (Surprise, Surprise!).
My dh has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a military pilot. He's into video games, Sci-Fi, shows about the universe, etc. We make jokes about the fact that he always scores in the autistic range on adult screening tests and he has even talked about seeing if he would be diagnosed once out of the military. He flies under the radar until you spend a significant amount of time with him, but if you start talking about one of his favorite things...watch out, he won't stop talking! He remembers being very similar to my son as a young child, so I'm hoping that his experience will help us help our little guy as he grows and develops.
I have a BA in Sociology and Master's in Public Administration. Before becoming a SAHM I was the Program Coordinator for the local humane society. My interests are knitting, sewing, and reading. I'm not very good at math or science.
My DH has a BA in History and a Master's in Public Administration. He job title is Senior Administrative Analyst. He overseas all of the HUD grants, loans, and housing. He deals with money and numbers and has minimal interaction with people. His interests are technology (computers, gadgets, video games, tvs, etc). He is aamzing at math and science and hates to read anything that resembles fiction. He has an AS diagnosis.
Me: BS in Psychology and Master's in Public Service Administration. I have always been interested in the way people think and make decisions. I worked for 6 years as a research coordinator before quitting to better manage DS's schedule. Interests include reading, movies and movie trivia, current events.
DH: BS in Computer Engineering. Works as a Software Engineer (7 years). Excelled at math and other subjects with concrete right/wrong answers but never liked lit classes and the like where things were more open to interpretation. Enjoys computers, technology, home-brewing beer.
DH is a research scientist and has a Ph.D. in applied physics. He likes following sports and politics, snowboarding, working out, hiking and cooking.
I have a masters degree in journalism; my undergrad degree was a Literature and German double-major with a minor in theater. I like reading, cooking/baking, yoga and following current events. I miss doing theater (including improv) and white-water rafting.
Despite DH's science degree, I see more ASD-like characteristics in myself -- particularly myself as a child -- than in him. He's a very socially competent and eloquent guy, and frequently chosen to interact with his company's customers because of it.

I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and am trained as a neuropsychologist. I work in a hospital setting primarily with adults, although 1/3 of my practice is children ages 6+. I see a number of children with ASD dxes- have even diagnosed it myself- though my evaluations are certainly not specific to ASD. My interests primarily include psychology, reading (fiction and nonfiction), and nutrition/fitness.
DH is a psychologist, who works with kids. His interests include sports (especially fantasy sports) and electronics. He can get very obsessive about certain topics of interest to him, as well. He tends to be perseverative, and can miss social cues. He also has significant ADHD.
You must tell us the trend you are looking for because I've only ever noticed high achievers but I figure some of that is just those with a well educated background are more able to seek out help and more likely to research enough to notice a problem.
To answer you question I was a controller and am a SAHM now. I cook, knit, travel, read, and run. DH also works in finance and loves sports, both watching and playing.
I am a SAHM now but I was a Medical Education Coordinator for a university.
My DH has his PhD in Chemistry and is a Research Scientist.
What trend are you looking for?
Many of the people I have met either work or have husbands that work in IT and/or finance. I think it's so weird!!!
My husband works as a Financial Analyst!
I work at a group home for adults with disabilities (was a Residence Manager before DS, now I am a part time house counselor)
I was an american studies major, journalism minor, with a Masters in Education... I tolerate science and cringe at math. I was running a college career office 'til I had DD#1 6 years ago... been home ever since. Interests include reading, pop culture, fitness and fashion/shopping.
I spend a lot of time volunteering in the girls' schools and really enjoy that as well.
DH is a senior manager of a technology team at a big company. His background is in S/W development... math major, CS minor, Masters in Management. His interests lie everywhere- skiing, golf, beers, sports, sailing, home improvement, music, etc. Very smart guy all-around... way smarter than me.

I am in Marketing (I do all the graphic design, website and social media) for a Luxury Resort in Napa I have a BS and MBA in Marketing.
DH is the Fitness and Activities Manager at the same resort (he specifically runs the gym and fitness program along with personal training) he has a BS and MS in Exercise Science.

Haven't read other replies yet, so no idea if I'm part of the trend.
DH double majored business/psychology and is a partner at a small digital marketing firm, I was mass media/advertising major and did marketing for awhile, including working at Red Bull, before becoming SAHM.
I'm kinda sorta getting my MFA in writing, but I've lost a lot of steam because this whole parenting and ASD thing is fwcking exhausting.
ETA: DH is a raging computer nerd and was a state "Scholarbowl" champion, lol.
