18 weeks, gender determination

I'm going to find out the gender of my baby tomorrow and I'll be 18 weeks and 4 days. How accurate are they at 18.5 weeks? Do you think they'll be able to figure it out? I hear that sometimes the babies will hide their privates. Looking forward to it!

    I'm doing my a/s today I'm hoping that they will be able to give me a definite girl or boy. We did an elective the week prior and the tech thought our lo was girl but she was sure trying to hide everything lol.

    I had a probability of a boy at 17 weeks... but it is all in if the baby wants to give a money shot or not... if they are sitting in the right spot (my LO is breached, so it took longer) or if they want to cover themselves up and be shy ((my LO also did this lol)

    Also, IMO I would NOT drink a lot of caffeine like some people say... that could make LO move WAY too much to get a good shot... just eat something small about half hour before your appt, that way LO has some energy, but not doing the cha cha in there.  

    But, GL tomorrow! Let us know how it goes!

    we had our a/s at 18 weeks and the tech was very sure of the gender (girl).  i think if you get a good shot, its pretty accurate. good luck!

    At 18 weeks you can get a clear gender determination. Of course if the baby is not cooperating then you will not see. =) good luck!

    I had my a/s at exactly 18 weeks....the baby was breach at first but eventually turned over and behold his legs were wide open giving us a very clear view of his goods. I think you have a good chance at an accurate gender determination if the baby is in the correct position

    My OB does them at 18 weeks as standard procedure so I am confident that it will be a "safe" guess. Good luck!!!! I can't wait to find out!!!

    Good luck! I found out yesterday (18w6d) and the tech was certain it's a girl. I can even tell from looking at the photos, so as long as your LO isn't being stubborn you should be able to find out! :)
