I feel like his collection is getting bigger and bigger (which is great) but I feel like we read the same dang books over and over again.
Also, any book suggestions would be cool. I feel like a lot of what he has are baby books, I want more "toddler" stories. If that makes sense
Re: How many books does LO have?
I ask this question all the time for the same reasons
We just bought:
Poke A Dot: Old MacDonalds Farm- he is starting to do it on his own
Hand Hand Fingers Thum- doesnt really care for it
Sheep in a Jeep- likes it
First 100 words- I thought it would be too busy for him but he loves flipping the pages and ive caught him staying on a page hes more familiar with
Mr. Brown Can Moo can you
Belly Button Book
He LOVES:
I love you stinky face (def his favorite book)
Moo BAA LA LA
Lets dance little pookie
Snuggle Puppy
1000? man! that's a ton! we def don't have nearly that many!
Here we have about 30-40, all Dr. Seuss and from when I was a kid. My mom's house has all the Disney books from my childhood.
I recommend Dr. Seuss of course, and Theo LeSeig, which is also Dr. Seuss.
eta: We also have a bunch of board books that we bought from the thrift store. They all look brand new and only cost $0.25 each.
Really, the shorter the better? I was thinking longer stuff to read at bedtime, not quick ones we read in 30 seconds. He seems to sit through longer ones. I trust you as a teacher to enlighten me on this. Obviously he's not reading them nor would be for a while... But he likes to listen. For some reason he's the only person in the world who likes my reading/singing voice
Thanks for all the titles. People are asking what to get LO for his bday, not that I'll tell them which book to buy, I will tell them books.
And will get him myself as well!
LO loves those books with flaps to open and stuff, but he'll rip the flaps off and say, "oops. Eli do. Momma fix."
We have a lot but we definitely still read the same ones over and over. They have favorites and from what I've read that is very common.
Most of our favorites are by Sandra Boynton: Moo Baa LaLaLa, Hippos Go Berserk, Barnyard Dance... I know them all by heart...sigh.
I'm not sure how many we have, maybe 50-60ish? Either way, I feel like we are always reading the same ones, but that's because DS LOVES to read. We read a minimum of 10/day (5 before bed, and then he wants to read those same 5 the following morning while he drinks his milk).
He is really into Mo Willems books, the pigeon ones and elephant and piggy. They are longer and even though he probably doesn't "get" the ending of most of them, he adores them and always wants to read them.

I'd say about 100.
LO really loves "If You Give a Dog a Donut" and "Good Night America"
Too many to even count. Between my 2 kids we probably have close to 400 books.
Some recommendations:
Blueberries for Sal
Giraffes Can't Dance
the Llama series
Make Way for Ducklings
Where the Wild Things Are
Harold and the Purple Crayon
How to Catch a Star
Someday is not a Day of the Week
Knuffle Bunny series (or anything by Mo Willems)
the Marley books
anything by Kevin Henkes
If you give a Mouse a Cookie (and related titles)
Dr. Suess
My DS still really likes some of the Sandra Boynton books
These aren't really "boy" books, but my DD likes Olivia, Fancy Nancy, Madeline, etc.
We also have almost every single Disney storybook collections. You can get them at Walmart for $10.
We have just under 200.
Her current favorites:
Brown Bear, Brown Bear
Polar Bear, Polar Bear
The Very Hungry Caterpiller
Fisher Price flap book Lets go to the Zoo
Dear Zoo (flap book)
100 First Words (her favorite)
Giraffes Can't Dance
Lullaby Moon
Quiet Bunny (its a little long for her now but she loves the noises)
Say Hello to the Snowy Animals (the animals are flocked/fuzzy)
Have You Ever Tickled a Tiger (touch and feel book)
Goodnight Goodnight Sleepyhead (her favorite bedtime book)
My daughter loves the Usborne lift the flap books (Trains, Diggers, Farms) and we read them all the time. There is a lot of detail in the pictures (not much story) so we discuss the page, sing songs about whats on the page, find things (like butterflies) - she can't get enough. She also likes Spot lift the flap books https://www.amazon.com/Spots-Big-Lift-Flap-Book/dp/0142400831 but she is starting to tear off the flaps. She also loves the Gruffalo and a few others that were previously mentioned.
We do read the same books again and again but going to the library helps mix it up. We have about 30 books and it will gradually grow but we have a small house and I can't imagine where we would stick 1000 books!
We have at least 200 books.
DS's favorites are:
Brown Bear, Brown Bear
The Very Hungry Caterpilar
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
My First Book of Learning
We have at least 100 and both of my kids have their favorites that they only want to read over and over again.
We have also been making weekly trips to the library, where I take out 2 or 3 books for each of them and after they've read them all week long, we bring them back and switch them out for something else. It breaks up the same old, same old...
My LO doesn't have the patience for the length of Dr. Suess yet, but here are her current favorites:
Animal Alphabet: Slide and Seek the ABC's (best book for church ever!)
Dear Zoo
Brown Bear, Brown Bear
Llama llama red pajama
Barnyard Dance
FP little people, Let's go to the Zoo
It's a small world Furry Friends
Flip Flap Fly
my first animal board book, DK publishing
You and Me, Baby!
"We like nothing better than buffing our Zygoma. And imagining a horny time traveling long overcoat purple scarf wearing super sleuth nordic legend fuck fantasy. Get to work on that, internet." Benedict Cumberbatch

J. loves Sandra Boynton books. He's also getting into longer books, like I wish that I had Duck Feet (which I don't like, but whatever) and The Foot Book.
FWIW, I like having some longer non-board books and board books for the variety. He's most likely to amuse himself with the board books. But I prefer reading the longer ones generally.
Too many to count. Right now, she LOVES Brown Bear (Brown Bear, brown bear, what do you see? I see a red bird looking at me.), and this book of Native American art that my MIL bought for her (Good morning salmon, swimming in the stream.).
Eleanor Noelle - 18/05/12 Claire Elisabeth - 16/-5/10
We have about 50? --- we read 5-10 before bedtime (it's usually the same ones...I let him pick them out). Our favs:
I Love You Stinky Face (this is also MY favorite)
First 100 trucks (or anything by Roger Priddy) -- DS carries this book around the house with him, he loves it so much!
I am a Bunny
Dinosaur Roar
Where's Spot?
First 100 words
Baby ABC
