There is a bakery in my town that makes a lemon cupcake that supposedly will induce labor. I'm not sure if it REALLY works or not, but I wouldn't mind trying! Their cupcakes are pretty freakin' fabulous.
I made this, not because I actually thought it was going to work, but because I was bored Monday afternoon & just thought why not!! Sounds like fun & my family & friends have loved the treats!
Rather than a actual cake, I made them in to cupcakes to share!! :-)
Now did it work? Who knows - I ate a cupcake at 2pm! I'm wide a wake right now at 2 am from crampiness & contractions... I'm not going to time anything until I'm really in pain.

You made them in to cupcakes? That voids the whole labour part! LOL You need to keep it as a whole cake, and eat the entire thing yourself! Once you have filled up on the cake, there's no room left for the baby, so she/he has no choice but to come on outta there.
I made the labor cake and have eaten two pieces of it so far. It is VERY chocolate...like a big brownine almost. But so far, no labor. Still hoping though (i'm 38 weeks today)

LOL! It sounds more like the fulfillment of a craving than a labor inducer.

What makes it a labor cake? Tartness? Sweetness? I've heard spicy foods helps too, but I don't know how true that is.....
