Mommy Group??

I have a 3 month old and I would love to meet with other mom's in the McKinney/Plano area. I'm 22 and I have no friends who are moms. All of my friends don't have children so they don't really understand why if they want to hang out, my son has to come too. I'm wanting to make new friends who also have children (age of you or your child doesn't matter).

    I would check and see if there is a local MOPS group in your area... in fact I know there is, you would just have to look and see which one is closest to you... I love my MOPS group.

    Check out meetup.com or bigtent.com Both have lots of different kinds of groups.  I met all the moms that I know on meetup & eventually started my own group (now moving onto Facebook)

    I also have a facebook group its under Dallas Moms , but havent not done any meet ups.. seem like everyone wants friends,, but no one is willing to meet... Im in Duncanville off 20 and 67...... ill email we can be friends

    What is MOPS? 

     

    MOPS is Mothers of Preschoolers.  It's a group that usually meets a few times a month at a church (in McKinney there are three churches that have MOPS - First Baptist Church of McKinney, Trinity Presbyterian, and Crosspoint Church).  All the moms have kids between birth and kindergarten age.  I've heard that the groups can be very supportive and you can make some great friends in the groups.  I will say, however, that I contacted the Trinity Presbyterian group via email and never got a response from them.  I've since heard that they are a larger group with possibly a waiting list.  So, that's something to keep in mind.

     

    There are tons of mommy group possibilities on meetup.com as well.  Hope that helps :)
