Re: **haribo** how is your sweet 1st baby doing?

  • Hi Cheezeface, thank you so much for asking.  I have not been able to post on here because it has been so hard to write it, but we had to let our darling boy go to the Rainbow Bridge last Wednesday.  It was the single hardest decision that DH and I have ever had to make.  After his seizure, two day hospital stay, and two days home with us, we knew he would never recover enough to have a good quality of life.  Over the last year,  DH had been asking him to please wait to meet his sister, and he did.  Then, he stayed with us to complete our family for the 12 weeks I was on maternity leave.  I could not believe it, he finally got sick the day before I returned to work.  In our selfishness, DH and I also asked him to please hang on and come home with us, and he did that as well.  In the end, we had to do what was best for him, no matter how much it pained us.  We let him go peacefully in our sunroom, which was always his favorite room.  He was surrounded by love with DH and I telling him how much we loved him, how it was ok to go, and that he would soon be able to run and again.  We are completely heartbroken and devastated. His furbaby brother is completely lost.  Please hug your furbaby for me!!

  • I am so sorry.  I have been thinking about you and your furbaby too.  It has been 3 years this month since we said good bye to our "1st baby".  I was pg with our DS.  I so wanted her to meet him.  I still wish she could have but she had cancer.  I will keep you & your family in my T & P.  i am so sorry.

  • I'm am so, so sorry Haribo.

    Like TLC, it's been almost 3 years since I said goodbye to my first baby - a fluffy calico cat who died too early, at 13, of kidney failure. I wanted so badly for her to meet our little boy and still miss her so much.

    ::hugs::

  • Haribo, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending hugs to you.

  • I'm so sorry... we had to do that with DH's furbaby when I was just pregnant and it was rough. My "baby" Casey is 12 now and I often snap at him for being underfoot and then feel guilty after, because I know I'll miss him beyond words when his time comes.

    Thinking of you...
