Hi Ladies!! BC question...

Hello- hope you are all well...

Most of you know my situation, so I thought I would ask for your advice.

At my 6 week appointment I was asked if I wanted to go back on BC... I said no I just wanted everything to go back to normal.  My DR said that when ever (if ever) I was ready to start taking the pill again, just to call her and she will fill it.  I had it filled yesterday and plan to start taking it the beginning of my next period.

But, I am worried... I know that it is "safe" to take BC, but I am worried that because of my previous experience... is the BC going to effect me negatively when I TTC again??  Am I going to miscarry or have complications again etc... my DR said I will be fine and when I decide to become pregnant again they are going to take measures to help prevent happening what happened before... I am just concerned and feel weird taking something...

Any words or wisdom ladies??

Re: Hi Ladies!! BC question...

  • lhakers - seeing you post here had brightened up my day today - not been a good one for me - I'm so glad to see you!!  I think of you often.

As for the BC,  as far as I know, I don't think there is any medical documentation substantiating BC with miscarrages.  I would feel safe taking it myself, but then again, I haven't been in your shoes, sweets.

Your doctor sounds very concerned about you and your history, so I would trust that they will do whatever is necessary to prevent another miscarriage for you.

    Good luck!

  • Nice to see you on here again!  If your dr is fine with it then it should not be a problem.  My dr said we could start TTC the day I stopped taking the pill.

  • Hormonal BC has no impact on your future pregnancy. But if it makes you uncomfortable you could always do condoms or NFP.

I read your earlier post :( Sorry you guys are going through that, but so glad to see a picture of you and your cute little family !!  That is a good point...since she is so concerned she wouldn't have me do anything that would harm or hurt me... Thank you !!

  • Whoa, hello there lhakers! I did a double take when I saw your name. I hope you are doing well.  I can't imagine this is an easy place for you to come given what you have been through.

I echo what other PPs said about the pill.  It might take your cycle a few months to regulate when coming off the pill, so if you try again for another baby just keep that in in mind with your planning.

Definitely stop by and say hi again!
