s/o School District size

Maybe I just don't get it, so this might be a stupid question. When you have a School District with multiple Middle and High Schools, does each school have their own sports team or is there just one term per sport per district? I'm just thinking of my High School where the average class size is less than 300 and they have more than enough students to have quite large teams for sports. Then I think, in larger schools and/or districts are there multiple teams or just less athletes per capita?

    In our district, each school has their own team--and they are very competitive with each other :)

    Same here. We have one high school with 2400 kids, so they generally have pretty good teams. But multiple middle and elementary schools.

    My county has 7 school districts and they each have their own sports teams.

    Each school has it's own team. The teams in the district play each other. They play different teams in the state based on their size. Each school in my state is given a number based on their size(1A,2A,etc all the way up to 6A). The higher the number the bigger the campus. In our district we have 5A and 6A schools.

    We only have one high school - about 3200 kids.  I've heard that it is common for more than 500 kids to try out for a 60 person football team.  So, crazy competitive.  I was somewhat relieved when I was told that Ben couldn't play football because of his heart surgery, lol.  

    Our city school district has about 8 high schools, and only 4 I think have sports.  So the other schools can bus them to another school (it's regulated which they will join). They've turned several of them into Magnet schools, so like the arts HS doesn't have sports (or some logic like that).

    Each school has their own team.  I went to a high school with 2 high schools in the district, (same town) they were one of our biggest rivals.  The school district our kids are in now, there are 6 high schools, all with different teams.  (2nd largest school district in the state, covers many different towns)

    Where I grew up, there were two high schools in the district, each with about 4,000 kids.  The sports teams were pretty competitive, aside from our pathetic football team.  Students generally did not play more than one sport, as there were enough people to field teams from people who specialized in one particular sport.

    There are 12 high schools in my district and they have their own sports teams. If it was one district team, for the average varsity team (say, soccer), they would only be about 1 player from each school on the team. That's hardly giving kids a true opportunity to participate in sports.

    I'm confused by this. Does this mean there are 7 sports teams (1 school per district)? If so, then this isnt really part of the question of multiple HSs per district, right? We dont group schools by county here so I'm not sure what you mean.
