Target run!

I really really would rather go shopping by myself than bring DS...is that awful? I want to make a Target run after work and I'd considering going before I pick DS up from day care just b/c I know it will be easier (and faster) that way.

Part of me feels bad because I should be taking him, exposing him to the outside world lol.

What about you with shopping with your LO's? What do you prefer?

I love going shopping with P! Unless it's going to be long & I have a million things to get. I love watching her be the social director of the store - she literally has to say & wave hi to everyone! lol!

If I'm clothes shopping or something then solo is muuuuch better!

I love taking H with me also. She loves to sit in the cart, rid around and look at stuff. We only get out a couple times a week though so it's good for her to go with me.

If its a quick run, I prefer by myself. If its going to be like an hour or more, and I'm leaving from home, I almost always have at least one of the two boys with me.

I don't mind taking them - I talk to LO when its just he & I, and a lot of people look at me weird for having a conversation with LO ...even though its one sided.

I'm the same way! It goes so much quicker if I go by myself on the way home from work. However, I'm starting to only do my shopping trips on the weekend, since the workweek can be so tiring. When I shop on the weekend, I like to bring the munchkin and DH too.

I like taking him. It's easy entertainment for him. I get something done and am not stuck in the house keeping DS entertained...haha. Totally selfish on my part.

This. He loves being out and about, so it's more fun. But yes, it's faster and easier going alone, that's for sure!

Haha I don't blame you, sometimes I long for a chance to walk around Target for an hour or two by myself! DS is really good, though, so I can't really complain.

Actually, what I miss is being able to run all my errands in one afternoon instead of spreading them out over a week in order to minimize the amount of time we're in and out of the car seat. Especially when it's just something quick like mailing something at the Post Office or running in for some milk!

Really depends on the day. I don't mind taking DD to Target, but if it's a quick, non-fun trip and I want to get home, I'll leave DD at daycare for a few extra minutes.

I don't think you should feel bad but I 100% understand how you feel! I work full-time and then go straight from work to get C at daycare and play with him until DH gets home all while trying to give the dog some attention and getting dinner ready. It's a whirlwind all day so I actually kind of like wandering around Target on my own sometimes, just not thinking about anything in particular! But still, I have the same guilt b/c LO's been away from you all day and you don't want to leave him any longer. Often now though, I wait until LO is in bed and leave DH in charge and then go by myself. Target's open late so I don't feel guilty this way.

I hate taking LO with me. I usually go grocery shopping at night when she's sleeping. As bad as this sounds, I hate how everyone has to stop and talk to her, it kind of annoys/creeps me out. And old ladies always call her a boy, no matter how much pink she's wearing.

Now walking the dog? THAT'S baby entertainment!

I usually take A with me, but she is terrible to go shopping with. If I put her in the cart, she climbs out, so I usually have to bring the Bjorn. I almost always go to the grocery store within walking distance because then I can just bring the stroller and use it as my cart. Even then sometimes she reaches her shopping limit before I am done.

I used to not mind taking H with my when running errands, and she loved getting out and seeing the sights. I SAH so I didn't really have much choice if I needed to go somewhere during the workday.

However, she is a bit of a pain now with sitting in the stroller (no arms in straps, mom!) or a cart (can't i just stand up in this thing?) so it's soooo much easier now if i can just go by myself and leave her home with DH. Less baby wrangling and temper tantrums to deal with.

i really hope she grows out of this phase soon because it's making me feel like i'm trapped in the house again with a newborn!

I absolutely hate shopping alone. If I'm going for a few things at Target, I'll take him along. If I'm clothes shopping, I take L and DH along with me. (I need DH's opinion on the clothes.) Mostly I just like to have time with my family, and since I work some nights and weekends, we don't get much of that. So why would I go shopping by myself and give up more of that time?

If I am just running in to grab something or have a lot of short quick errands to run after work, I will leave DS at DC while I run to get it done. But if it's one long trip or a few trips where it's not going to be in and out and in and out of the car constantly then I'll take DS for entertainment because I like talking to him and hearing him try to talk to every single person he sees (He thinks everyone has to be told "hey" and "bye" after they have walked past him lol)

I agree. I have to have DH with me when I go clothes shopping because I cannot for the life of me pick something without an opinion lol
