We have been working on increasing DS's expressive communication, and combining more of the words he knows into 2 or 3 word phrases beyond things like, "more grapes (or other food)," "red truck," "big ball." Today, we were playing in the living room and I could tell he was going to poop. I asked him if he was pooping, he said no, but then turned me towards the dining room and, while pointing, said "that way, go."
I can't imagine feeling so much joy at being given the boot by my 27 month old son!
Re: AW: I have an early brag!
Oh my gosh! Either I'm confused or he's making AMAZING progress.... I'd thought DS' hearing loss too great to process speech sounds and that he was exclusively signing... Either way, this is fabulous! ... So excited for you that you reached this milestone today! ... And that's clearly not a phrase that you guys were rehearsing with him.
Yeah!!!!
I am excited for you and Owen as well! Go Owen!
Thanks! He is making great progress. His hearing loss is mixed. He hears a lot with his aid in his right ear, and pretty much nothing without the aid. He had middle ear surgery on the left ear in November, which should be totally healed in 1 month, at which point we will find out if there is any difference in his hearing in that ear.
