So has anyone thought of trading in their current car for more of a Mommy car?
I've got a 2 door civic right now and while I know it will be annoying, we'll deal with it for a while after baby arrives. But I have been thinking about as baby gets bigger, we may want to get some type of 4 door car. Just wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation, or if anyone has any advice/experience they'd like to share.

I would think long term if I were you - and get a vehcile that you can grow into an SUV or minivan. we had a car - 4 door sedan when we had our 2nd and never thought about vehicles-- our strolle rtook up the whole trunk and when we got groceries one of us had to stay home with the kids as no room for us all. lol.
we then bough a mini van and now have a top of the line - with all the bells and whistles van - with leather seats and dvds. great with kids.
But I would ask yourslef how many kids are you planning on having and go from there.. think also about activities, play dates, neices and nephews and car pool- as its always great to have more seats than not enough JMO. i am expecting # 4 and we hold 7 passangers total
My friend is toting two babies in carseats in her mini. It looks mighty uncomfortable!

I drive a GMC Yukon, so it is plenty big. Bigger than I had wanted but DH talked me into it and now I love it.
DH drives a regular cab Chevy truck. It's mostly used for him going to work or quick trips to the store. He loves his truck but it's not practical (the 3 of us don't fit) so I'm trying to talk him into a new crew cab.
We also have a car but we never drive it, we'll probably trade it in for a smaller SUV at some point.

We also have a Honda Pilot and LOVE it!!! Tons of space but not too big, 3rd row seating for extra passengers, and even the base model comes with great accessories. I had a 4-door Honda Accord when we had DD, and while it was big enough I cannot imagine using it with 2+ carseats. So if you're planning on having more than 1 baby, you might keep that in mind when looking at vehicles.
To be honest though... And I never thought I would catch myself saying or even thinking this... I swoon when I see a new Honda Odyssey mini-van on the road or on tv
I just love all of the features, the allocation of space inside, and the new exterior look! But DH and I both really do love our Pilot, so it's unlikely we would trade it in for a mini-van.

I have a Mini and am traumatised at the thought of letting it go.
DH has kindly said I can upgrade to a Mini Countryman. It will have no bells & whistles, but I'll still have my daily Mini fix!

I did this once it started becoming too painful on my back in the old car.
I had a 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. I now have a 2011 Mazda CX-7. I love it! Blue tooth, sirius radio, back up camera, heated seats for driver and front passenger that I can't use yet but others have liked, sunroof. It's awesome.
It's very easy to get in and out of and with twins it will be much easier than having to bend down to get the car seats in and out. And there is lots of room in the trunk.
I bought a 2011 GMC Terrain last spring in hopes of starting a family in the near future, so I am set. Made sure there was plenty of room for car seats and my DH who is 6'7".
We are considering options for DH's car. Right now he has a Monte Carlo and isn't liking the idea of having to mess with a 2 door car and a baby.
It's easier to get a older child into a 2 door than an infant.. just saying once they can climb in the seat themselves thats when it is less of a problem.
Chevy is bringing back the Trailblazer in 2013 but think right now it will just be for sale in the middle east. Read an article saying they were debating bringing it back to the US or not.
I drive a Chevy Tahoe with a 3rd row, so no need to trade in for more space. We did buy DH a new Dodge Journey about 6 months ago because we knew that he wouldn't be able to have a car seat in his old truck (no back seat).
My SIL traded in her cute Mustang for a Kia Sportage before her son was born. She was going to keep the Mustang because it was paid off, but then she realized how hard it was getting the car seat in and out of a 2-door car.
