Ok, my very pregnant hormones are getting the best of me....DS will NOt stay in bed at night. He goes to bed fine (sleeps in a full size bed) and doesn't try to escape. But he jets out of bed about 4 times during the night and then at 530 am (too early!!!). During the night, I just have to lay him down and sometimes turn his CD player on but then he goes to sleep...until the next wake up and putter patter to my room. I just can't take this!! I am trying to get as much sleep as I can before LO arrives and this is totally stressing me out. I have no idea what to do when the LO AND DS are BOTH up all night long....ugh. And I can't trust DH to put DS back in bed because he lays down with him and ends up falling asleep. I totally don't want DS getting used to one of us in his bed at night
Suggestions, encouragement??? Something to know we are not alone in this?!?! We already have the OK to Wake clock which worked for about 2 days help!!
Re: Stressed out pregnancy hormones and a toddler who won't sleep!!
No advice, just sympathy. I've been in your position before. We finally got DD1 to stay in her bed and is only allowed up to go potty but she's 3 mo older. 3 months ago she was waking up multiple times in the night and wouldn't stay in bed either.
Maybe after the baby is born you can reinforce baby v big boy. For example, big boys sleep in big beds and drink from big boy cups and get to watch Dora/Diego and play at the park. Babies have to sleep in a crib and drink from a bottle. They're not allowed to watch TV to play at the park. Do you want to be a baby or a big boy? This worked for my DD. I think she was afraid of never watching Dora again.
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
When did you start the transition of crib-to-bed? Is it fairly new?
You are not alone in this, but remember this is only a phase that (hopefully) he will grow out of soon.
You also have my sympathies. DD1 was still in her crib while I was pregnant with DD2, but she wasn't STTN yet from the beginning and I had horrible all day sickness until I was 5 months along. Hang in there!
