Anyone have a medical I.D. bracelet?

I am trying to decide which I.D. bracelet to get for DS and what to put on it. I'm thinking the bracelet would be better than an ankle one since it would be more easily seen, but I'm not sure if it would bother him or he would try to take it off. Any recommendations on which one to get and what to say? I was thinking of his name, Autistic non-verbal, and both my husband and I and our phone #'s. Anything else I should include?

Re: Anyone have a medical I.D. bracelet?

  • I have one for my 7yr old.. We went through about 8 of them to finally find the "right" one for him... I suggest an old fashioned metal one, none of the "cute/trendy" ones held up for us. We also had a hard time finding one where they engrave the info deeply enough...he wore the info off of a few of them just from everyday use. We emailed a few places to see if they could make sure it was a deep engraving before we wasted more money. I have Autistic/Non verbal, his name our home address and our cell numbers (front and back engraving available).. As far as wearing it, we added it to his programs at school so it was slow but now he has it on full time with no issues! Hope this helps :)
