The DM one is also safe to use. I had to use it when sick. I like that it has expectorant in it to get rid of the mucus.
I use the DM one anyway. But it really irked me every time someone on TB said that "plain robitussin" was OK for pregnancy. But there was no "plain robitussin".
As a spin/off, my OB told me it was better to just take the exporant alone because having an exporant AND a cough supressant can be counterproductive. That if you are loosening up the phlegm, you want to have a cough to get it out.

This is totally true. And, honestly, Guaifenesin (the expectorant) isn't terribly effective unless you consume lots of water - which a lot people forget.
The DM is popular because it does help to calm the cough - and there's only a couple plain dextromethorphan-containing products out there. I like Delsym if you're just wanting the cough suppressant.
2 years TTC with 5 losses, 1 year recovering, 6 months applying for adoption approval, and almost a year waiting for a placement. Then, a miracle BFP at age 36!

Yes, and, it's questionable whether it's more effective than just consuming a ton of water on its own.
I still take it sometimes, though. Always the liquid.
Re: I'VE BEEN PROVEN WRONG!

But I guess there is!
