Uppababy Vista

FTM here. I really love the Vista, but my husband thinks it's a bit big. We'll probably go with the City Mini if we don't get the Vista. We live on the UWS and I'm due at the end of April, so I feel like I'm going to be out and about with the baby a lot for the 1st three months. Anyone have experience with the Vista they could share? Is it a pain to get in some doorways? I just really love the idea of a rear facing seat.

Re: Uppababy Vista

  • I've only been using mine for a week, but I absolutely love it.I live on the UES, and been going to Fairway, drugstores, doctor's offices-so far no problems getting through doors.I also love how easy to maneuver, even with one hand.

The Cruz doesn't have a bassinet does it? Can you put an infant in the regular seat? I'm going to be out and about in the summer months so I think using the car seat addition will be too hot.

  • The Cruz doesn't have a bassinet, but you can use it from birth if you get a snugseat.  :)

  • I got mine in 2007.  The company was fairly new but I loved the storage underneath, and the bassinet (which we strolled around the apartment a lot!).  I definitely loved having the rear facing seat (sorry to your dh- it was a great feature for a new, paranoid mom).  LIving in the city, the storage was sooooo helpful.  It holds a ton.

As for the wheels, 95% of the time I did fit in stores.  The supermarket was the one place I always had trouble- but so did most of my friends with strollers like the Bugaboo.  Those check out lines are very narrow!  But there are ways around it - which you'll figure out pretty quickly.  I don't regret having the Uppa Baby Vista in the city- but- I will admit that I did bump into things a lot because the wheels were wider than I expected.  You just get used to it- it's kind of like buying a new car and you just need to get used to the quirks of how it handles.

It has a good re-sale value - not that you're thinking of that now!  I just sold mine (I moved to the suburbs and don't have use for it now) on Craig's List and a lot of people were interested in buying it- I was happy with how fast it sold.

It's a great stroller - you will be happy with it!

  • The UBV is great, perfect for the city. When DS was a newborn we used the bassinet all of the time. We also have the city mini and we use that for traveling out if the city.
